THEIR SOLUTION is going to be some kind of a mandatory digital IDENTITY verification system for all internet users, so they can say, OK this internet user is a real human being and we have their name and address to prove it, and this image they posted is AI because umm uhh we said so. what they can do with this system is not only completely destroy anonymity by making things like Tails obsolete, but they may also define what is and is not misinformation. they can trace thoughts and ideas they deem to be problematic back to their posters and silence them appropriately, now that it is public knowledge that internet activity is not anonymous. although it is very true that the government already invades your privacy regardless, this identity verification system will be stronger because it will strip any ambiguity between users of the same network: instead of your IP address, it is your name tied to all your online activity. The state has already been working on outlawing and redefining 'antisemitism' and this identity verification system will help them enforce that. What has essentially happened is that they have created a problem and now they are the ones to herald its solution, and the people will consent to this solution no matter its nature, because i got framed by ai for murder and now i'm gonna go to prison. And that is when they will have the permission to implement ridiculous security measures that undermine our right to internet privacy.
